It's a PEZ Parade!

Nine months after moving into our little home, and we finally have hanging Pez cabinets to show. Some projects just take longer than others, y'all. But they're up, and they're filled, and the collection--which, seriously, is just a few years worth--is as stunning as I remember. Pez are just plain fun anyway, I mean, who doesn't like Pez? And singularly, they are iconic. But when you put them ALL TOGETHER in a case like this I think they're just an amazing piece of pop-culture art. So, yeah, come see our Pez...

There are four cabinets total, three with dowel rods used for standing Pez, and one with plexiglass shelves for Pez trucks, which get displayed horizontally.

Each of the three standing Pez cabinets will house around 170 Pez dispensers, depending on how big their heads are!

The Pez are grouped together in sets (holidays, movies, cartoon characters, etc), but beyond that, the arrangement is subject to Matt's whims--for example, the Christmas and Halloween are arranged by characters, and within the characters, from most recent version to the oldest. The Star Wars Pez? They are arranged in two rows from (-I love you, baby-) most evil to least.

The Pez rest on two rows of dowel rods, tipping forward to show their heads better and to allow for another row to start behind them. Also, it looks awesome from the side ;)

There are more shots over on Flickr (some I might actually get around to giving titles and captioning!) if you're digging the Pez as much as we do, please go check 'em out ;)

Coming up next post...our produce bounty from a week of raiding Frank and Ruth Ann's garden, and Refrigerator Pickles! See you guys then!

Sun, so far, none are exceptionally valuable, maybe a few bucks, although we did buy some at the Pez Museum in California that are rare and worth a bit more. Mostly I just love how they look, and the challenge of finding new ones in the store when they come out. I think we're pretty current, except for the WALL-E Pez, which I haven't seen in any stores yet. Pretty soon we'll need another cabinet!

And OOOH PICKLES! I'm just getting started experimenting, if Worth is willing to share his recipe I'd love to have it! I can't believe they're so easy...
