I can't remember what it was like to not be tired...

Moving is still kicking my butt, y'all.

If you thought I was cracking up a bit living between two houses, you should see me lose it over three. Stuff. All our stuff. In three different houses. I had a closet meltdown moment Saturday morning. What is it about the closet? I haven't cried that hard in a long time, and yes, it is wonderful to know that when you've been pushed so far that you sob on the floor with your dirty clothes hamper, someone will be there to pick you up and tell you that, no matter what, we'll get through it. Thanks, baby, I needed that.

Sunday we moved all the Christmas Stuff from the Yorkshire house. Avondale is next. Anyway, the scary truth is that both Matt and I have more Christmas stuff than you average crazy person. Say, 1 1/2 times. Put that together in a new house, and yeah, we have to do some culling. I think maybe we'll make our planned December open house a Christmas sale also. Like that ornament/mug/candle? For five bucks, it's yours! Our garage, our lovely TWO car garage, is stacked to the brim with Christmas boxes. I think it's a disease. We're seeking treatment. But it's gonna look awesome...

Thanksgiving is next week. Is that right? NEXT week? How is that humanly possible. Matt has to work (hope all you Brinks customers feel secure! My hubby has to miss Turkey day to answer your smoke alarms!) so I'll be heading to Chattanooga to Gramma's by myself. I've been asked to bring my famous Pecans with Rosemary and Crispy Shallots--pecans? Ok, I think I can swing that. Since I'm hosting/cooking Christmas dinner all on my own this year, that sounds just perfect, actually. I'm exhausted already.

Zoe the cat and I are off to the vet today to hopefully alleviate the multi-colored puking. If anyone has some amazing stain remover recommendations I'm all ears, because I can NOT get these spots out of my cream-colored carpet. Anyway, Zoe has been behaving like a goth teenager, sleeping in the dark in the closet all day and only coming out to turn up her nose at whatever food we suggest, and I'm hoping whatever ails her is easily (and cheaply) remedied, as it's also time for the other four animals' annual vet checkup and shots. Cross your fingers for the Zoe-girl.

i'm ready for christmas. i'm not sure how much we'll be able to display with decorations since gracen is mobile and slightly insane this year. we may have to live vicariously through the halls...

I appluad your use of the SAT-level word 'culling.' Nice.

I will now sing you a song to make you laugh:

Movin' on up (movin' on up)
to the East side (to the East side)
to that deeeee-lux apartment in the skyyyyyyyyyy

Oh, movin' up (movin' on up)
to the East side (to the East side)
We finally got a piece of the pieeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Thank you.

Hello Everybody!

Jess--at the old house we used to start around Halloween or a bit before (with less obvious things like the lights on the roof, unplugged of course), but this year we're starting this weekend, since the display this first year won't be quite so big!

Shan--Oxyclean, got it. It seems Zoe is very dehydrated, and is having some kidney issues--we don't know whether the issues were caused by the dehydration or the dehydration was caused by the issues, so we're treating both. Antibiotics AND three days of IV fluids--lord help me with what I'm willing to go through for our animals.

Katie--Yay for songs! That DID make me laugh, and I sang it to myself and the new house in the shower.

Sun--I posted the recipe, hope you try it and love it like we do! We're excited about decorating a whole new house for Christmas--the neighbors have all been telling us that this 'hood really likes to decorate, but I don't think they know to what level these Griswolds are aiming ;) And last night we saw TWO houses here with their lights already on--is it me or is that CRAZY early?
