A whole bowl full of ACK.

Y'all, I'm not going to make it.

It's still Thursday, for cryin' out loud, it's not even FRIDAY yet, and I don't want to do ANYthing that doesn't have to do with FRIDAY.

Now, here I sit in my office, having found a mercifully peaceful moment (what happened the minute Cortney announced she and Matt were buying a house this week? WORK GOT BUSY AGAIN AFTER THREE MONTHS. Why?), and instead of continuing the task of throwing all my worldly belongings into boxes, I am blogging. Why am I blogging now? Because you all will listen to me whine, and commiserate with me, and none of this crap I'm boxing up will do that, and the dogs are tired of listening to me talk about how awesome it's going to be in the new house. That's why. I need you guys.

First of all, WHY do I have all this STUFF? I thought we had done beautifully at our garage sale two weeks ago, and now here I am looking around a more crap I should have gotten rid of. TOO MUCH STUFF. Simplify, simplify, that is the key to being able to move. I swear, I think I could have another garage sale next month, there is so much newly superfluous stuff.

Why are there never boxes when you need them? If this were an ordinary Thursday instead of THE THURSDAY BEFORE WE START MOVING, there would be cardboard boxes avalanching on my head from unseen sources. Now that I *need* boxes, well the damn things are just no where to be found. Even the trusty liquor stores that supplied me with moving boxes 8 years ago are turning up nothing. I'm going to have to hand carry in my entire house worth's of knick knacks two at a time. "Here, honey, carry in this candle holder and a bread knife. Great, thanks, no, don't worry, I've got that one picture frame and this vase, we're all set. Only 763 more trips to go!"

How is it that time is moving more slowly than it even did when I was a kid waiting for Christmas? I am so grateful that we were able to move up the closing, because I'd be *seriously* losing it if we had another 6 days to go. COME. ON. FRIDAY.

Why do I own so much stuff that has to be handled delicately, or is awkward to move? 20 gallon fish tank, full of fish? Entire collection of cake stands? Love seat sofa bed (who has a LOVE seat sofa bed? ME, of course--crazy heavy and yet small and unpractical! Woo hoo!) THE FRIDGE--we have to move my fridge, for crying out loud, can we even carry my fridge? I'm tired already.

This move is going to be such a wonderful thing, such a blessing for us and our situation. This move is giving us the chance to get on with our lives as a married couple, to make a home for ourselves all our own. This move is the best thing ever. Totally worth it, I know.

But, seriously, moving sucks.
Thanks for listening to me whine and helping me kill an hour or so of this terribly long day. It's my last in this office, you know. 'Cause tomorrow? We're moving.

Thanks Katie! I hit Sam's a few weeks ago, and they had a lot of, um, half boxes, from produce I guess? Anyway, they didn't quite suit (although I still used a bunch), but I will head over there again tonight and see if the pickins are less slim!

I'm mooovin', I'm mooovin'....
