Then I look at you, and I know it's gonna be a Lovely Day...

As of three minutes or so ago, it appears we may have a deal on the house. We refused to move on our offer from yesterday, they came down another $1000 this morning and are throwing in the extra hardwood flooring in the garage so we can replace the carpet in the master with that. Our fantastic buyers agent is writing up the deal now, and I am going to spend my Sunday afternoon baking him a basket of goodies for helping us through this ordeal. This man will be getting cookies from the Halls every Christmas of his life from now on, and is the only person I will trust with my business when (if!) we move again. Of course, nothing is official until the inspections are done and we finally close, but ladies and gentlemen, we are THAT MUCH CLOSER. I am positively giddy.

I was kinda down this morning, worrying about this deal. Then from the bathroom I heard Matt, blasting Bill Withers' song "Lovely Day" and singing along in the shower. THEN, I put on the new pants I bought at Old Navy last night for $7, the pants that are a size I haven't worn since middle school. And now, progress on our house deal. It really is a lovely day. Go listen to the song, my friends, it is now my official anthem.

Gimme a year or so to unpack, then we'll talk about nurseries ;)

If you get to the nursery point, well, lemme know. I like nurseries. I might could drag some girls down there for some decoratin' and wine and such.

I tried to comment yesterday, but my computer tooted at me. YAHOO on the house! I can't wait to hear that it all sealed and done... I know it's not until you have those papers, but YES. What a great great thing.

Thanks Katie! It is a great thing! And believe me, when nursery time comes, you'll know, I will need KatieKate originals, stat.

It's amazing to me how quickly things move, once they finally get started. In a few short hours I've gone from fretting over our options to arranging inspections and lining up homeowners insurance. We close on Halloween. I will celebrate by handing out candy (the *good* stuff, too) to my new trick or treaters. I knew October was my favorite month!

U2's "beautiful day" is also another good one to blast on days like that. yeah on the house! awesome. i can help you out with homeowner's insurance if you have any questions as that was my past occupation :). awesome on the old navy pants. i like to refer to this month as rocktober.

Thanks Sun! I'm almost as excited about the pants as I am the house. *almost* :)

And thanks too for the offer on the insurance--I have had the good fortune of marrying into a State Farm family (my Father in-law was a VP of..um..something..in Bloomington before he retired a few years ago), so we should be all set on that, but otherwise I would have definitely needed some advice, it's so awesome to have so many blog friends with so much expertise!

This is TOTALLY Rocktober!
