...And I need your help. (and no fussing about how it's too early--if you had this much to do, you'd start early too.)
This is our house last year at Christmas.
This is what we did on basically short notice. Now, granted, that's more than some people do, well, ever, but not us. We're Christmas Light People. We've been to a *convention*. It's a big deal. So, this year, we want to do more. In fact, this year, we want to use up as much of our insane stockpile of decorations, mostly so we can get rid of the rest and finally walk in our garage again. So, I need ideas, bloggy friends o'mine. The only things in this original display that are non-negotiable are Santa and the sleigh, and the lights around the garage. Everything else is interchangeable. We are planning on getting icicles on the top level this year (we have to hire a contractor to install hooks, don't ask...). We have every color light strand available--orange, pink, purple, red, blue, green, gold, multi, white, and chasers. Anything in that yard can be covered in any of those combinations. We have garland, we have ribbon, we wreaths, both lit and unlit, we have candy canes that light up and snowflakes and inflatables in every size and shape. Tell me, darlings, if this were *your* blank canvass and you didn't have to pay the electric bill, what would *you* do?? More pictures here, if you need a refresher. Clearly, I need no help with the interior ;) And if I can find pictures of what we used to do to Matt's house in our hay days, I'll post those as well. Just so you know what you're dealing with.

ooohh for what?
Sun, you're too quick. ;)
Ohhhh I always look forward to your house at Christmas!! You should make the carr family riding on santas sleigh!! thats a good one!!!
there we are. i was just too fast earlier. I think that the top of the house should be lit up for sure, but you said you are going to do that. You don't know how much this warms my heart to see. i am so excited!
Oh man. I am way out of my league here.
May I put in a vote for the big bulb multi color christmas lights? I like those.
i would like to see a christmas tree forest of lights on your garage door--different sizes, depths, colors (i'm feeling green and gold).
also, i think a simple line to define the top of the roof line might be nice.
and maybe a little light on the front door--a star, perhaps?
you make me giggle a lot.
and i'd keep everything else as is.
and also, i want to grow up in your house...
I've never heard of a Christmas light convention before. Hmmm.
I love all of your Christmas decorations. Maybe you could come help me decorate my new house?
